Lights, Camels, Monkies, and Cookies

Saturday was the opening night of Airdrie's Festival of Lights. I was certainly delighted that most of the opening ceremonies were happening in a heated tent this year! Last year was -30 or so, and I wasn't sure that my fingers were ever going to thaw out!! LOL.

As we waited for Santa to arrive, some carollers sang for us.

Santa arrived and he and Alioops (Here's the Scoop mascot) threw the switch for the lights to be turned on.

As soon as the lights were on, fireworks blasted through the night sky.

Bundled up!!

Lots of hot chocolate....yummy!

There was an artist there doing free caricature sketches. He's going to be on site every Tuesday night. Check out the resemblance in his drawing to the lady posing.....AMAZING!!! I must get one done.

Yup, there was a monkey there.

And always a favorite, Cleaver the camel was back for another season of camel rides.

Cookie decorating in the activity tent.

There is a new train this year, sponsored by Vesta properties. It's so great to see Vesta's involvement in the community. Vesta built our home and we love it!!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
