Bow Valley College Canada Day Pow-Wow

Every year, Bow Valley College organizes an amazing Canada Day Pow-Wow. It's an event of spectacular colours, culture, and entertainment. There is certainly something for everyone, young and old, from the crafts and face painting for kids to the Aboriginal market. So yes, there are many things going on besides the dances, but the Pow-Wow certainly is the main event. These photos are actually from last year's event. I really enjoyed shooting this event last year and was so sorry that I was out of town and not able to photograph it this year.

Christmas in July? Calgary Corporate Event Photographer

Yes, that's right! I'm blogging a Christmas event in July! It's that time of year where I start getting inquiries to photograph many Christmas parties around Calgary so I wanted to show off one that I did last season. This is Total E&P's Sainte Barbe. With oil prices in the pooper, the events team from Total managed to throw an incredible party at a fraction of the cost compared to other years. In the CEO's speech, he said that many employees asked him why they are still doing the Sainte Barbe in the current economy, and he said "Because we work hard. And we deserve to relax and celebrate how hard we've worked." From the smiles on everyone's faces, they definitely had a great time unwinding and celebrating their accomplishments! What a fun night!
