Natasha & Matt's Wedding- Calgary Wedding Photography

It was a chilly day, the first Saturday in October, but Natasha and Matt were so brave and rocked their photo session OUTSIDE!! It was great to have lots of time for photos and we even got to take a breather before heading off to the reception. Barrett and I had an awesome day with these guys and their wedding party was a blast!

Here is their story:

Mom looking on as the girls get ready:

Each one of the crystals in Natasha's bouquet repesented someone close to them who was no longer with them.

I just loved all of the fall colors incorporated into the details of their ceremony:

We were thankful for a heated tent :)

Love how the cake looked very similar to the detail on Natasha's dress:

Natasha and her Dad had a super groovy dance:

Congrats you two!!!

Perks of the Job

I do quite a bit of work for AirdrieLIFE magazine and this morning I had a particularly scrumptious assignment! I was photographing The Avenue Cakery and Bakeshop and all of the wonderful things that Debi makes there. Lucky for me, Debi sent me home with a few treats too!! Check out the November issue of AirdrieLIFE for more!!

Claire & Alex's Wedding- Calgary Wedding Photography

What an amazing day for a fall wedding! The colors in the trees were so vibrant and it was one of the last few nice days before the weather turned cold.

My absolutely favorite part of any wedding day, is the time I get with just the bride and groom for formals. Alex and Claire didn't have a wedding party, so I was pumped to spend our entire formals session with just the two of them! We had lots of fun walking around Prince's Island and Eau Claire, and Claire & Alex were up for trying any of my ideas.

Quite a few of these shots were done by my second shooter that day, Tricia. I just love seeing a different point of view of the same set up!!

Here is the story of their day:

All ready to go!

Petals for tossing at the end of the ceremony:

Their ceremony was held at The River Cafe in Prince's Island:

I just love their reaction here:

Lots of awesome details! First two detail shots are mine, and the rest are Tricia's.

Lori & Aaron's E-Session- Calgary Engagement Photography

Do you remember that strangely HOT day right at the end of September? It was about 32 degrees out and then it changed to winter almost the very next day. Well, that was the day that I met up with Lori and Aaron in Fish Creek. The fall colors were amazing and I was excited to shoot!

Lori and Aaron were great at working the romance. Here are a few of my favorites from their session:

Can't wait for your wedding in March!!

A Few Sneak Peeks

It sure is a busy time of year and I'm a little more behind in editing than I would like to be right now because of being out of town on a paragliding maneouvers course and then getting sick! Well, I'm feeling much better and back in the swing of things trying to get everyone their photos in a timely mannor. I came across a few shots from 3 recent weddings that I really wanted to share:

Jenn & Mike:

Natasha & Matt:

Hehehehe...I don't think Natasha knows about this one.

Claire & Alex: this image shot by Tricia B Photo, my second shooter that day.

Jerrid & Kristy's Wedding- Calgary Wedding Photography

Michelle and I had a great day with Kristy and Jerrid at the end of September. The weather was perfect and I was excited to explore Spruce Meadows with them!! There are sooo many fun places to shoot there with great lighting which made me like a kid in a candy store!! Kristy and Jerrid were amazing models who were super comfortable in front of the camera and had a really fun wedding party to support them.

Here is the story of their day:

Michelle's shot:

I rarely post family shots, but sometimes potential clients are curious how family shots look, so I thought I'd post one.

I was looooooving the light coming through the doors here.

Smokin' hawt!!!

These next two are Michelle's. Love them!!

I've shot a lot of weddings this summer. Seen a lot of venues. Had many nice reception dinners. But there was something about Spruce Meadows that makes me rank them on the top of my list! The food was absolutely amazing! Like, really, really good. The room was beautiful with a great view through the big windows, a crackling fire, and warm chandelier lighting. It was one of the few venues in town that I had never been to before.

Congrats!!

Linda & Don's Wedding- Banff Wedding Photography

Linda and Don had an amazing day in Banff with their closest friends and family. I hadn't met either of them before the day because they live out of town, so I was excited to see who they were and learn about their love story. Their wedding day came and we battled major construction traffic and rain showers, but they were both beaming and couldn't stop smiling at each other all day. During the reception, one of Linda's sons said that he had never seen his mom happier. WOW!

Here is their story:

Congratulations!!!

Maja & Alan's Wedding- Calgary Wedding Photography

Karianne and I had a great time with Alan and Maja on their day. We laughed and had fun and there was such a relaxed atmosphere amongst the wedding party. You guys made our job a breeze!

Alan and Maja were awesome at the silly shots and then could turn on the romance like nobody's business! Woohoo!!

Here is your sneak peek:

Karianne's perspective. You can see me squatting at the front of the aisle.

Quite possibly one of my most favorite shots ever!

We had lots of time in between the ceremony and reception, so after taking lots of photos, we took a little break and had a drink before continuing. Thank you to Alan's brother Chris for the drinks! We forgot to thank you on the wedding day.

Carmoney Golf Course

Alan's Dad having a go at the "kissing game". There were different kinds of kisses for how far back you putted from. As you can see, he's trying to get them to "second base". LOL.

Congratulations!!
