Vanessa & Ben's Wedding

Vanessa and Ben had a rainy day for their wedding, so I was very thankful that they had chosen the Zoo! The Zoo has so many great spots to shoot in even when the weather isn't great. Also, this is the last wedding that I'll shoot in the Conservatory for quite a while, because soon after this, the Conservatory was emptied for renovations. I think the scheduled reno completion is the end of 2009.

To Vanessa and Ben: I'm so impressed that the rain didn't get you down! Your love for each other was fun to watch and the other Vanessa and I had a great time with you guys.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Vanessa wins a prize for my very favorite dress of the 2008 wedding season.

Breathe in, breathe out....almost time to go!

Vanessa's dress had quite the setup to bustle it. Her girls were very helpful!

Ben waiting for Vanessa to get out of the limo....no peeking Ben.

These two had a small intimate ceremony before their other ceremony when they actually were married.

Signing of the Ketubah.

Getting the chupah ready:

Ben watching Vanessa coming down the aisle:

Circling each other:

"Just a little bit now", is what the Rabbi was saying. I couldn't help but laugh a bit.

Off to the Zoo!!

I just love the wet pavement in this shot and how it reflects Vanessa's dress.

Congratulations you two!!

Nicole & George's Wedding

Vanessa and I had a great day with Nicole and George on their wedding day. I knew from their engagement shoot that these two would be up for anything crazy. We laughed a LOT and had a ton of fun!! Here are a few of my favorites and a little story of their day:

The dress waits for its debut:

Almost time to go!

Married!!

Off to Heritage Park.

The boys got these funky sunglasses from George as a gift.

Playing with some vintage photoshop effects:

I asked the girls to show some leg but the boys didn't want to be left out...LOL.

The reception was in Gunn's Dairy Barn, which is a pretty cool venue.

Congrats!

Kyla & Chris's Wedding

The weather was perfect for Kyla and Chris's big day....not too hot, not too cold, and just a bit of cloud cover for that beautiful soft light. These two were super relaxed and soooo fun to work with. In the morning, Kyla told me that they had accidentally set off the fire alarm at the hotel, and even that didn't phase her. So awesome.

Not too tight girls.

Kyla and Chris decided to have their photo session before the ceremony, so we did a "reveal" at the location they got engaged at.

This is the bench Chris proposed on. It overlooks a huge ravine into Fish Creek park.

One of Vanessa's shots. I love the expressions here.

Off to location #2! I ran into a couple of other photographers I know at this location.

Off to Heritage Park!! I really love this venue.

The boys and bridesmaids had already walked down the aisle as we saw the carriage approaching with Kyla. It's kind of like Cinderella...so fun.

Married!!

Arriving for the reception:

Some very cool details:

So I may have hung around this table a little too long. YUMMY!! I am such a kid...hehe.

Congratulations!

Kari & Cory's E-Shoot

I was hoping that we wouldn't have to reschedule Kari & Cory's engagement session, because the forcast did look a little rainy. Ah....but again my weather luck prevailed. It rained on the way to the shoot, and then let up when I got there. I just love shooting with dark clouds in the sky and that awesome soft light that a cloudy day provides. Cory is an aircraft mechanic and also a pilot, so we headed off to Springbank airport for an "aviation" background and to shoot with his plane.

This is Cory's plane that they got engaged in.

I found this little spot close to the old farmhouse which was converted into a B&B. I liked how the trees felt like a tunnel of green.

Looking forward to your wedding in October!

Sara & Ryan's E-Shoot

Sara and Ryan's awesome engagement shoot was back on Aug. 22nd. I guess that shows how much I'm behind! I'm so sorry everyone for getting a bit behind in blog posting, but trust me, I'm working hard and there are so many great images from lots of very cool shoots!!

Sara and Ryan were super fun to work with. They have a great connection, and could totally turn on the romance and make each other laugh!! Here are some of my favorites:

Looking forward to your wedding in February!!

Emily & Tyler's Wedding

Emily and Tyler had a Sunday wedding which was great because there were no other weddings in sight on Stephen Ave!! It's so fun to go to great locations and not have to worry about there being 5 other wedding parties.

A few things I learned about Emily and Tyler on their wedding day are:

1.Emily is very artistic AND organized which is a rare and wonderful combination when planning a wedding. Her talents definitely came out in the amazing reception decor which you'll see below.

2.Their families are very special people who care very deeply about them.

Here is a little story of their day:

I like Tyler's awestruck expression here....priceless.

A new family!

A little bit of "Blue Steel"....a tribute to Zoolander.

One of Emily's favorite stores:

Playing with some photoshop effects. I like the vintage feel to it.

All tuckered out.

Congratulations! All the best in your new lives together.
